The BC-CfE coordinates an undergraduate course HIV/AIDS in collaboration with the University of British Columbia’s School of Social Work. The course ‘SOWK 452: HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care is offered annually in May-June. The course is open to students in Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Social Work, Nutrition and Dentistry, as well as for interdisciplinary students. The objective of the course is to prepare students in the health and human service professions to begin practice in the field of HIV/AIDS as members of interprofessional teams. The course consists of 2-week online learning followed by 4 weeks of classroom learning and clinical/community placements.
