This course is designed to allow learners to access up-to-date knowledge on the use of HIV pre- and post-exposure chemoprophylaxis for HIV prevention. The course is informed by new BC-CfE pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis guidelines and will offer new skills and knowledge applicable to clinical practice and quality patient care.
The HIV Diagnosis & Management course is targeted at health care professionals and providers who are already working in the field of HIV/AIDS. The course provides comprehensive and evidence-based knowledge about the diagnosis and management of HIV/AIDS. The course takes about 8-10 hours to complete. This course is accredited by The College of Family Physicians of Canada for 10 Self-Learning Mainpro+ Certified credits. Course Syllabus
HIV is a complex and multi-faceted illness. Where possible, a diverse team of clinicians, providers and support services can help to address social, medical and other health-related issues in the care of a person living with HIV. This course has been developed by clinicians and providers of diverse disciplines, as well as by highly-knowledgeable members from the community affected by HIV, and provides an introduction to providing care and support for people living with HIV, using an interprofessional framework. The course takes approx. 6 hours to complete. A certificate will be issued from the BC-CfE upon successful completion of the course. Course Syllabus
The HIV Treatment Information for Support Workers course is targeted at health care professionals and community frontline workers who are new to the field of HIV/AIDS. The course provides an overview of HIV disease and treatment, with emphasis on practical guidelines for HIV medication administration and adherence support. The course is 40-minutes long.
