HIV Diagnosis and Management
The BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS has developed this online course for health care professionals to support their continuing medical education needs. This course is designed to allow professional learners to access up-to-date knowledge on the diagnosis and management of HIV. As a result, the course will offer new skills and knowledge applicable to clinical practice and quality patient care.
Rapid advances in HIV management and treatment require the ongoing attention of health care practitioners. This course will address the implications of new information on strategies for the diagnosis and interdisciplinary management of HIV-positive patients, including the management medication toxicities, opportunistic infections, and co-infections such as Hepatitis B and C. Clinical learning contents will be put into a broader context by reviewing the epidemiology of HIV in British Columbia as well as the principles of Treatment as Prevention©.
Duration of the course
The course will take you between 8 and 10 hours to complete, depending on your own speed.
